I'm a Younique Presenter!

Hi everyone!

 

As you have most likely gathered from the not very subtle or imaginative title, I have joined the Younique family and I am so excited to get stuck in and begin. I will be posting updates on here about my progress, any new products and obviously there will be reviews and tutorials to accompany.

 

So it's been a while...

Hi everyone,

Blimey! It's been a while, a much longer break than I originally planned, it's crazy how life can change so much, so fast and you just completely lose track of time.

It's been almost 12 months since I last did any blogging and although my life has been a bit hectic in this time, I have really missed sitting down with my laptop and tapping happily away writing all about the things I love the most - yes that's right hair, make up and all things beauty! Worry not my beautifully smart people, I am back and I have no plans on leaving anytime soon, so be ready for more tutorials, hauls, reviews and so much more!

So here's a little bit about why I took a an unintentionally long break from blogging, only a little bit because I don't want to bore you with it all.
I went and got myself a new full time job which took a lot of my blogging time away, seeing as I was unemployed before.
Then a month after starting a new job, I moved house with my boyfriend which is a busy time for anyone, so any spare time I had outside of work was taken up with organising the house.
A couple months after that, I ended up moving again, but this time back to my parent's house, as it turned out me and my boyfriend wasn't really working out and so went our separate ways. Any spare time I had then was having some well deserved time with my favourite people!

As of recently I also became a Younique Makeup Presenter which I am very excited about and part of the reason I got inspired to get back to blogging, expect to see a post all about this new step very soon!

Just to remind you all, as it has been a very long time since I did anything on here, I will be bringing you lovely people hair and make up reviews, tutorials, hauls and monthly posts about what hair and beauty products I have been loving.

I am really excited about this next chapter of Beautifully Smart, I am looking forward to getting my head into blogging again and happily tappity tap away about our favourite thing to talk about.

April Favourites.

I usually upload my monthly favourites on the first of the every month, so this one is almost a week late, but you know what they say, better late than never! The bank holiday weekend just completely threw me off and basically I lost track of what day it was.

GLOSSYFINDS: NYX Butter Lipstick Review.

Hi everyone!

It's been a few weeks but I have written another post for GlossyFinds, I'm not sure why it's been a while since my last GlossyFinds post, but I have been struggling to get into 'the zone' and found it so difficult to write. I think this lovely weather we are having is a little bit of a distraction if I am honest.

I finally managed to get rid of my writer's block and my NYX Butter Lipstick Review was published today, I would love it if you could go over and give it a read. As usual I welcome your thoughts, I always really like to hear your feedback.

REVIEW: Irresistible Me Sapphire 8 in 1 Complete Curler.

Hi everyone!

Until recently I have always curled my hair with my straightener because I just hadn't known which curler to go for - I mean there are so many out there to choose from. When Irresistible Me asked me if I wanted to review their Sapphire 8-in-1 Complete Curler, I just had to take them up on it as this was one of the curlers I was looking at buying.

I have read a few reviews on other blogs and watched some on YouTube too, I wondered if it was really going to be as good as the reviews claimed. Once I received the curler I very quickly came to the conclusion, yes it is brilliant and so easy to use. I just had to play with it as soon as I got it, trying every wand out to see the different types of curls I could achieve - I had so much fun!

March Favourites.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to start this post with a lovely statement about how the weather has got warmer and the sun has been shining, cheering us all up! But as I write this, it's been raining all morning and is dark and gloomy, so it's just another example of typical British weather but believe it or not, Spring is here! I just love Spring, don't you? There are so many pretty colours, everything looks far more beautiful and it means we are getting closer to Summer which is my favourite time of the year.

Now for what I have been loving this month, I found it quite difficult to come up with a few things that I have been enjoying throughout March, I have tried new and different products but I just haven't been loving them enough for them to feature in my favourites. So I have had to really think about what I have been using a lot this month or any new products that I have tried, here's what I came up with - enjoy!

TUTORIAL: Keeping it Neutral.

I realised that it has been over a month since I did a tutorial - bad blogger points - so with that in mind, I thought it was about time that I did one for you. I didn't really have a look in mind when I started this, I just sort of made it up as I went along, I hope you like it!

A few weeks ago I got sent this gorgeous NYX Butter Gloss in the shade Cherry Pie, I was so happy that I received this in the post because not only had I been eyeing up these lip glosses for so long but the colour is just so me, and so pretty! 

GLOSSYFINDS: YouTube Channel Launch & My First Video.

Hi everyone!

As you may all know I write and work for GlossyFinds as an Editorial Assistant - and loving it may I add! What you might not know is that GlossyFinds have recently launched their YouTube Channel (click here to watch the latest videos and SUBSCRIBE) they asked me to be one of the GlossyGirls that features on their channel. 

I have to be honest, I wasn't sure at first because actually sitting down in front of a camera and filming is so much different to writing a blog, and surprisingly harder. But after having a few arguments with myself over it, I decided that I should just do it, despite how scared and nervous I was about it! 

My first video went up this evening, I would love for you all to watch it. Give it a thumbs up if you liked it - this is the first time I have done anything like this, so it might not be up to Zoella standard - but I promise I will try and get better. REVIEW: MUA Undress Your Skin Illuminating Foundation

Hi everyone!

At the start of the year I bought an MUA blusher for only £1, it featured in my January Favourites and I have written a review on it, so check them out. I had never tried used MUA products before buying the blusher and I loved it that much that a week or so ago I was in need of a new foundation and thought I would give their Undress Your Skin Illuminating Foundation a go, considering it was only £5 from Superdrug - I can't believe how cheap their make up is, I just had to buy it at this price. Seeing as I really liked the blusher, I was hoping that this could become a new favourite.

February Favourites

Is it just me or does it feel like we blinked and February was over?  I'm not complaining though because now it's March, it means that my favourite time of the year is on it's way - Spring and Summer!

The Oscars 2015 - My Best Dressed

Hi everyone!

You've probably seen all over the news and different types of media that it was The Oscars on Sunday night - the biggest event in Hollywood's calender. If you didn't know anything about this, then crawl out from beneath that rock that you have been living under!

This year was the first that I watched it live as apposed to catching up on it the next day, although I didn't actually manage to stay up until the end, I had to throw in the towel at 2am and it finished at 3:30am - I didn't do too badly. So I did watch all of the Red Carpet which is my favourite part anyways, I love seeing what the celebs are wearing and the latest celebrity hair and make up trends.

There were some beautiful dresses on the red carpet this year,  different magazines and websites will be writing about who the celebrities are wearing and who was the best and worst dressed, I wanted to share with you a few of my favourites and who I thought was best dressed.

REVIEW: Vidal Sassoon Salonist - Medium Intense Red #1

A few months ago I registered as a Savvy Circle Member on supersavvyme.com and signed up for the Vidal Sassoon Project to try out and experience the new range of salon quality colours at home with Vidal Sassoon Salonist.

A couple of weeks ago I received an email to say that I had been chosen as one of 3,000 other savvy circlers to be sent a Vidal Sassoon Salonist Starter Kit and last week it got delivered - that was such a good morning!

Valentines Day Dates on a Budget!

This time of year a lot of people are strapped for cash and have to make some cut backs - I fall into that category for sure - but that doesn't mean that you can't do anything with your other half on Valentines Day this year. Fifty Shades ...

Hi everyone!

As I am sure you are all more than aware the most anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey movie is soon to be released, the wait is almost over ladies! I'm not what you might call a bookworm, infact it's very rare that you would see me with a book, but I absolutely loved the Fifty Shade of Grey trilogy and couldn't put the books down. I was over the moon when it was announced that they were making a film from the books, and I am so excited to go and see it! Again I am not a huge cinema go-er - mainly because it's so expensive nowadays - but I have made a date with my bestie to go and see it! Are you going with your man on Valentines Day or are you getting together with your girlfriends? Sex and the City style!

In the spirit of all things Fifty Shades and after a couple of suggestions on my Facebook I thought that it would be rather apt to write a post on underwear, from various stores that range in price, for Valentines night with your Christian Grey!

TUTORIAL: Valentines Day Make Up

Hi ladies!

With Valentine's Day in just a few days, I thought a make up tutorial would be useful to some of you and it's one of my favourite kind of posts to do. 

I didn't want to go down the usual  route of a smokey eye with a red lip, I wanted to do something a little different. I created this really girly, glitzy but subtle look and I just love how it turned out. I have to be honest when I started I had no idea what was I doing, I didn't have a particular look in mind I just sort of made it up as I went along. REVIEW: Essence I Love Extreme Volume Mascara

Hi everyone!

I bought this Essence I Love Extreme Volume mascara from Wilkinsons quite a few months ago now, I think it was November last year. I didn't really have high expectations for this product because it was so cheap - only £2.80 - but I have to say I was completely and utterly stunned by this mascara, I use it everyday without fail.

I thought I would upload this as part of my Valentine's series because it's perfect for those of you who want long lashes without the hassle of falsies on your date night.
