Fundraising Target Smashed at Pancreatic Cancer Fun Day!

On Sunday 30th November 2014 a charity fun day that was suitable for the whole family took place at River Rooms in Stourbridge in support of Pancreatic Cancer and in the loving memory of Lee Wilson, a Black Country comic but also a Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad who sadly lost his battle to Pancreatic Cancer. It was organised by Lee's grandchildren Libby, Ellie, Emily and Sam Martin and was such a well thought out event that almost DOUBLED their fundraising target!

There were plenty of people browsing through the stalls and checking out what the local businesses had to offer. When I spoke to Ellie she said "About 100 people came, it was brilliant!" She also said that she and the rest of her family are very happy with how it turned out.

Sam, Libby, Ellie and Emily set a target of £500, but on the day an amazing £700 was raised for Pancreatic Cancer UK from when the doors opened at 12noon to when it finished at 4pm. Plus, they had a Just Giving page set up for people to donate to, which increased the current total to over £850 in just 3 weeks! They almost doubled their target, it's safe to say that they smashed it! Because of this they are keeping the Just Giving page open so that the donating can carry on. The new target they have set is to raise £1000 by 1st January 2015.

Each local business and individual donated £20 so they could have a stall at the event to show off and sell their items, I had a browse around majority of the stalls and there were some very unique items. I spoke to some of them, they were all lovely and allowed me take their details.
